Gopher Head Coach
Coach Borton enters her 12th season as Minnesota’s Head Coach. Under Borton’s tenure the team has notched 25+ wins in three different seasons, and has made six trips to the NCAA tourney.
Coach Borton has taken her team to the Sweet Sixteen Bracket three times and led them on a magical run to the Final Four in 2004.
On September 22, volunteers from the FBC joined Goldy and the players at the 7th annual Women Run the Cities event at Minnehaha Park.
Coach Kelly Roysland, Basketball Office Manager Deborah Edwards and FBC members Sue Corbin and Karen Lueck ran in the 5K race with the Gopher players cheering them and the other runners on.
The FBC also had a booth to help promote the upcoming Gopher season and lots of people stopped by.
The event helped raise money for the Ann Bancroft Foundation's "Dare to Dream" and "Let Me Play" grants for girls, as well as the CREW Network Foundation, which promotes the advancement of women in the commercial real estate field.
Get energized and excited for the upcoming season by joining the coaches and fellow fans for a fun evening.
The dinner is Wednesday, October 16 at the Golden Valley Country Club.
